Yes,

but if there are no people there, why have the steps. Who built them? Did people visit more often in the past, and why did they stop going there?? oh endless questions.

Honestly, while enjoying cities, I don't really mind a tour to the countryside if it wasn't for the fact that u tend to get tired, sweaty and eat crap food and toilets... omg. At Erawan waterfall I had to use a toilet but couldn't find a real one. So I ran aboard one of the tourists busses that had stopped there and yelled in fake japanese and it seemed to work.

Anyway I do enjoy reading about these tours to the country side. It sure beats going there myself

It as when I first went to Kanchanburi I saw actual green trees. I felt a sleep as soon while in Bkk and I never forget the feeling when I woke up and we were driving in the middle of the forest - or so it seemed.

Anyway it's fascinating the stairs in your picture. Stairs in an empty place.

Very nice and serene but the rapids look murky after the heavy rain.
Chiangmai seems to be home of all the beautiful waterfalls in Thailand.
