My husband and I are considering staying in Bangkok for our vacation. I was wondering if there was anything we could do where we hire a driver or something to take us outside of the city, or if there are day tours to somewhere slower and more peaceful than the city? We want to see the city, but we want to see some other stuff too. I don't want to go to several different hotels, because it's just too hectic.

Very informative article. Next time I travel to bangkok I want to get out of the city and see more of the surrounding area. I will definitely go to the markets as I love the smell of fresh vegetables etc.
Those cheeky monkeys are all over Asia and are experts at taking food from tourists. And always great fun.
