It's certainly hard not to feel sympathy for the red shirts considering how welcoming they are towards foreigners in their protests. I was at the pink rally and while not hostile I definitely didn't feel the same sense of welcome I fet at the red protests.

Yours is the best blog that I have seen for the April 3-4 weekend red shirt protest! Thanks! I really appreciate your thoughtful comments because they give a perspective that is impossible to get from the Bangkok English language newspapers.

Like you I don't understand why the Siam Discovery and Paragon malls were closed, because they are passing up a lot of sales opportunities from tourists and red shirts alike. Can you or anyone else tell me if the MBK shopping center was open over the weekend? How long will these malls stay cloesed, I wonder?

Thanks for your comments. It looks like most of the big shopping malls will be closed again today (Monday) for the third day in a row. Only MBK remained open and did good business.

Does anyone know what these red shirt people are upset about? Taksin was corrupt is what Thai people agree. He pays red shirts 1,500 each to go protest and 400 baht each to vote. Is their any reason other than money that the Thai red shirts do all this?

JG,
Huh? where do I pick up my check? It's definitely long overdue and I haven't seen a dime. What did the yellows and "domocrats" done with the illegal campaign funds they've been convicted of? Ca'mon you can tell me.
