Thai movie producers are very innovative in their movie production but one thing missing out is that could the producers incorporate "angrit" subtitles below the sanskrit thai.
We foreign viewers no speak and write thai,so we wanna learn thai and khun thai learn "angrit" --- win-win situation.

HongKong movies became incredibly popular since they would have english subtitles. Not only because the Americans or English would be able to read...but its a language many people in the world find easier to study. So HK films had a huge following worldwide. Japanese Animation did the same and we see how popular their animation and toys have become. If thai films were released on DVD with an english option it would boost sales, help the economy, and open up the culture to the world.

Most Thai films released in Thailand have subtitles when you watch them at the cinema. However, not so many have them when released on DVD. This is done to protect the international market and their distributors. If Thai movies with subtitles were released here then the cheap DVDs will flood the international market. Local distributors in say America or Europe wouldn't be able to sell their version. I am not saying it is a good idea, but you just have to look for DVDs that were released locally.
