Hi Betti. It was great to see your pictures and reminded me of the trip that my wife and I made to Doi Saket - what a great town - last November. I'd agree with you that it is a hidden gem and well worth the visit.

The strange English renditions of Bhuddist proverbs and the amusing pictures accompanying them which line the road from the temple to the temple entrance on the road are also well worth visiting.

All round, a wonderful spot to spend an hour or two.

Hi
I couldn't agree more with you about Wat Phrathat Doi Saket. It is one of my favourite temples in Chiang Mai.I just love the modern Buddhist paintings. I go there frequently though I have to admit that after the first time climbing all those steps I now drive up.

The paintings in this temple blow me away. I'm going to have to look more into Chaiwat Wannanon. His work reminds me of the famous American psychedelic artist Alex Grey (http://www.alexgrey.com) with the same sort of intricate, bright colors, but in a Thai Buddhist theme, of course. Thank you for capturing his work so well!
