a couple of years ago, a murder was committed at the grounds of my school at night. a hapless victim was escaping from someone chasing him with a gun and was eventually shot outside the prathom 1 classrooms. luckily, it was not the first duty teacher or her kids who discovered the body the next morning.
then, before anyone could stop them, the caught murderer, the police and camera crews arrived for a reenactment, complete with guns and all, and replayed the crime in plain view of the children.

this is just one of those things when you are lost for words.

Your full-text syndication feed is borked; it's sending out each article as a single, *long* paragraph, with no inter-paragraph spacing.

Please fix ASAP, thanks!

Death is just a part of life why should you sensor it. It is better than being sanitized and kept in the dark like children. Maybe if people see the full ramifications of an action people will think more carefully not to do it

Roland: the format of the feed is intentional. it is less likely to be automatically stolen if it is totally messy or only contains a few words.

MW: surely there must be something in between the extremes of being totally in the dark regarding death (like the Lord Buddha was growing up, not knowing anything about suffering), and having photos of dead bodies on the front page of newspapers (without the victims' prior consent, despite family members' objections, or the right to privacy). while you are alive, your photo cannot be published without your consent. once you die, your body is free for the vultures to earn money from it. you can't be serious. it would be different if someone insisted on having their dead body on the front page (expressing this intent before dying), but that's not very likely to happen, is it?

The family of actor David Carradine is already having to mourn the death of the late actor who was found hanging dead from his closet in Bangkok, Thailand.

Certainly not a good way to be remembered with assholes pointing at your body with a grin as if he had just caught a great white.

I think the picture was probably shown because according to other news reports he was dressed in womens clothes and was possibly in the act of auto erotic asphyxiation. If he didn't want to be photographed in such an undignified position then maybe he shouldn't have done it???

marc,
I assume you're not fimilar with Thai newspapers. They take photos of dead people who died accidentally or unnaturally every opportunity they have and put them on front page. If someone slipped in the toilet and fell to death with his ass on top, it'll be on the front page because they probably think its "funny".

The most important reason you don't want to die in Thailand unless it's in a hospital bed and your family has had plenty of advance warning of your impending demise is that in most circumstances, the main priority of the police is to go in and steal as much as they can from the deceased. If the so-called rescue services are first on the scene, then they get the pick of the loot.

BHP in BKK, ie breath control play in Bangkok.

David Carradine was trying to experiment with a sexual form of martial arts, unfortunately, it went wrong. Hands tied over his head like The Wound Man, or The Hanging Man and what with the photo splashed all over the front pages.

You would not have thought that Kwie Chang Caine would have died like this.

Quite a decidedly indiscreet and unsober death for such a pious martial artist as Kwie Chang Caine.

Someone killed Bill in Bangkok.

As a exchange student,I came to Chiang Mai for Thai study, when I read your article,I am so shock that thai people
actually be like this,in my mind thai people is always smiling and kind for foreigners and be passional to help you,you know,in a religion of Buddhism, almost everyone is godliness,I can't believe how they can do things like that!I am very sad.Maybe it is the result of excessively freedom and I don't know if thai public has the consciousness of human rights like western countries, and their police, all I have heard indicate that thai police is irresponsible and even seems like stupid.
