Comment from: PAD mad
This is obscene. The Army is now derelict in its duty to the country by not going in there and clearing out the PAD. First they cripple government, now they are making air travel impossible. This is too far and too much.

Mr. Anupong, get to work for god sake.

Is it possible that they are allowed to do anything they want? Has Bangkok become the hostage of the PAD? I never heard about a situation like this before in any other country!

They are doing a huge amount of damage to the tourist industry.Thailand is quickly losing it's appeal as a holiday destination to many people.

Its a sad state of affairs, given the current global climate this is something that Thailand can ill afford.

Just before I finished work today Europes largest foreign exchange broker "dumped" in excess of $90M USD of Thai Baht, this can be seen on EUREX Trading tomorrow. Given the current relative strength of the Baht this is a sure sign that analysts are forecasting a steep decline in tourism and their Baht currency reserves.

The PAD is down right terrible. What they are doing is simply absurd. Totally atrocious! A personal feud between Sonthi and Thaksin has turned into what you see today. Down with Sonthi for thinking that he is above the law. Down with Sonthi for using the people for his own gains. Down with Sonthi for using the name of the monarchy and the king for his own political means.

How many people have died? How many billions of baht have been lost directly by the airport, not to mention decrease tourism and development in the future? Some one needs to be responsible for the well being of the country and people!!

As much as I rever the HM King Bhumibol Adulyadej and deeply respect him and all that he has done for the Thai people, I think that it is time he step out and speak his mind. It would be good if HM King Bhumibol Adulyadej can stop Chamlong Srimuang and Sonthi Limthongkul from creating trouble again. Thailand needs peace and Thais have grown sick and tired of the illegitamate PAD.

Comment from: Is the PAD mad
This is really crazy. Suppose the PAD is support by the Bangkok elites who has too much money to burn. It is about time that the rural Thais blockage off the city of Bangkok and let the urban elite go on protesting. The business should consider moving out of the congested city of Bangkok and operate fromthe smaller city and spread the wealth.

All the investors will move to friendlier countries. Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia, etc. are all waiting with their arms open!

My boss is presently trapped in Thailand, waiting to go home. This is not a big deal, just a temporary inconvenience. Unlike most tourists he is well versed in Bangkok life and social circles and will be well cared for until he is able to depart.

It remains nothing beyond being rather amusing to those of us awaiting his return.

In regard to Zheng Han

I don't know how much it will help if HM King Bhumibol Adulyadej speaks his mind, because it is obvious the royal family supports the military and PAD on this issue. Having not spoken out already (remember PAD has occupied government buildings for 3+ months now), the close historical association between the royal family and military, and HM Queen Sikrit attending the funeral of a killed PAD supporter are all evidence of this.

With all due respect to HM King Bhumibol Adulyadej, I believe he should step out and speak his mind about what exactly he thinks about the present situation. Thailand is a constitutional monarchy and democracy has already established it's place in Thailand. If someone were to try to change this, there will only be dire consequences as the majority of the people will never allow this.

Sonthi Limthongkul is already getting out of hand and even if PM Somchai Wongsawat is impreached, I think that some form of severe punishment should be applied on Sonthi Limthongkul and Chamlong Srimuang. Chamlong is going old and senile. He seems to have forgotten that day 16 years ago when he was crawling on the floor to the feet of HM King Bhumibol Adulyadej. HM King Bhumibol Adulyadej clearly needs to give him a piece of his mind.

After the Philippine Congress junked, the impeachment complaint, against Philippine President Gloria Arroyo, based on alleged graft on a Three Hundred Million Dolar China deal, alleged election cheating, alleged seven hundred million pesos fertilizer scam, alleged railway deal, alleged extra judicial killings, alleged gold reserve contract anomaly and the five billion pesos quedancor swine scam, two catholic bishops called on the the Filipino people to be like the Thai protesters in Bangkok. The two bishops said- "We are so disappointed with the junking of the case. If there are no more legal means, then we resort to extra legal or extra constitutional means" "Let us show that we do not approve of what is happening and that we don't like it. Does that mean that it's destabilization? Is that necessarily rebellion? Source: http://newsinfo.inquirer.net/inquirerheadlines/nation/view/20081128-174868/Do-like-Thais-2-bishops-tell-Filipinos

First time visitors will be surprised and scared at the same time; surprised of how Buddhists can become so wild and scared that they will be stuck there forever because the PM is as crippled and paralyzed as Thailand air travel right now.

*sigh*

I am greatly sad of what is happening to thailand which i considered a place of peace and love......I do exchange my long period of working as a teacher in my country and try to look for a greener pasture here but what,s going on now???????to the place of the most religious people.

I never experienced this in my coutry, though politics is getting worst. We are fighting for peace but not to destroy and harm the goverment's sources of income......pity the thais for this.
