I was kik'ed, in the later urban sense, last time I was in Thailand. What it is to be used an abused by a Thai girl.....

A "gik" is a term for both boys and girls, by the way. The term was coined after I left the country, but from what I understand is that a gik is the boy/girl you're seeing but not exclusively dating. It could mean a sexual partner or just someone you're going out with but not exclusively tied to.

Essentially, a gik is a non-committal term for someone you're seeing. It's not a boyfriend/girlfriend, but it's more than just buddy-buddy.

The seriousness of the relationship of a gik can go from totally nonsexual (just going out doing all the boyfriend-girlfriend stuff but you're NOT committed to each other), a one night stand, a constant booty call, all the way to a friend with benefits.

Reminds me when the maid at our bungalow was asked by the wife of a missing husband "where is Jim", maid reply..."oh, Jim with friend"...this naturally led to a week or two of fireworks for Jim..

'gik' is a sexual partner, much as in OakMonsters reply.

Nice post by the way ;o)

So the advantage of having a Thai "gik" as opposed to a Thai gf, means saving a few thousand baht in support money each month, ha-ha.

For a man a kik is a woman that is
more important than a friend, but not
as important as a girl friend. The
relationship may be sexual or may not
be sexual.
