This looks a very interesting museum to visit, however, the main problem I have with all Thai museums I have visited is the lack of English titling accompanying exhibits-is this the case also with Museum of Siam?

It looks good and is on my to-do list for my next trip. I never knew Bangkok was under water at one time. I also did not know the history surrounding the change of name from Siam to Thailand. Siam sounds more exotic so let's hope the call to change the name back again succeeds.

The Museum of Siam is the best museum I have seen so far for information in English. Any foreign visitor will be perfectly satisfied.

The museum is just a short walking distance south of the Grand Palace and Wat Pho and is a great place to visit.

Thanks for the recommendation. I've always hoped Bangkok would have a decent museum. I'll give it a visit soon.

Just read about this museum in the papers this morning. Will definitely go there to have a look. I always love museums but found many musuems in Thailand not very fun to go to. This one might be an exception.
By the way, this is a great blog!

I am planning to go this weekend. Heard so much about it. The other highly recommended musuem in Thailand is The Hall of Opium in Chiang Rai. That is also a wonderful musuem (with English information of course). The materials are interesting and interactive, the information is full of meanings

some Thais still haven't know this place. I think it's worth to visit and have a look when you make your way to the reclining Budha temple.

If you may need a volunteer guide or more information about any places to plan to visit, please visit our website or send your question to the attached e-mail.
