What about the injustice being done to Thai prisoners? Are you interested to hear their stories? Too bad they don't have the money and the mind of a capitalist to publish their lives.Does the world care about what's happening inside the prisons in "THIRLD WORLD COUNTRIES"?No!
An Irish man jailed in Bangkok! This is injustice!
Oh please!

The book also presents the hardships met by the Thai prisoners. When Gor (the author of 'Thailand Life') will get out of prison, he will probably be the first Thai to write about what prison life is like for Thais.

Stuff like this makes me sick. Terrible injustice indeed.

Injustice is also done in the west. please read "Beyond Reasonable Doubt" by David Yallop.

This is a book that will appeal to many readers in New Zealand, not only because of this famous murder trial but because it will take them back to the age of country innocence that they remember.

David Yallop's ego is overpowering within the text to the point where one begins to doubt his own convictions, however most readers will feel vindicated when Arthur Allan Thomas is finally pardoned and paid a handsome sum (I think it was 2 million) for the injustice done to him.

I can't remember to whom I loaned the book to now.

Interesting. But again, this book seems to tell a far more horrifying story than what some other prisoners have written. Richard here, just recently interviewed David McMillan the author of 'Escape' and his story of incarceration was nothing as bad as this.

Since Richard has been back home in England we haven't heard any update on Gor's sitution but from what we know he hasn't been witness to such unimaginable condition as potrayed in this book. Let's wait for Richard's feedback on this.

We have to keep an open mind to the actual realities, remembering that both Colin and the publishers wanted to 'sell' the book.

Sandra Gregory in "Forget you had a daughter" confesses her guilt, while Martin Colin in "Welcome to Hell" professes his innocence. That's why Sandra's writing tone is mild, but Colin's is so angry. Warren Fellows’ tone in “The Damage Done” is somewhere in-between, but his incarceration took place in the ’80s.

I must take a Thai idiom: "listen and bury it there". Both books are fiction. They are cooked and gingered.

Ive just read this book. The reason I bought it was someone gave me a read of The Damage Done by Warren Fellows,I have to say I find it hard to believe that this country is corrupt as it is but then again Ive never been and after reading these books Im not sure I want to go, just incase. But strangly enough I think both Fellows and Martins stories are facinating. Also you should check out the bangkok hilton documentry on you tube. it dosent look half as bad as protrayed in these books, but then again they wont show everything on camera. Over all I think Fellows time on the inside was worse as this was during the 80s. So is the system getting a little more humane as time goes by?? Only the prisoners and screws know for sure.....

I got the impression that Colin Martin actually might have killed the man and was possibly guilty as charged. Now I am not saying that the things that had happened weren't horrendous but you can't be living in a country like this without knowing some of the incredible crazy and unpredictable things that happen. I wouldn't necessarily make this guy out to be a hero....just a guy who made a mistake in the wrong place....

I don't want to sound like a jerk about him with the last comments I made I only meant that he was living in Thailand trying to chase down the guys who had ripped him off. Once he had him he had used force to keep the guy captive. The fact alone makes him responsible for whatever might happen. Yes, he got ripped off. Yes, I know the police are shite there...Yes I know the legal system is shite there too. But if there is one place in the world you want to stay away from dealing with the police it's Thailand....

i ve been there so i know what is all about.the descriptions are quite clear. the justice system is roten from the core.the only way out is money.nothing else.thai or foreigner is the same when it s verdict day.after the only thing that can help you is money to survive inside.because once inside you are not in thailande anymore but in a world of shit
