Thanks for giving us this account for what it is like for a foreigner to go to court in Thailand. It must be scary as hell to be tried by a court in a foreign language. Richard, please follow up about his medical condition. It does sound like he would need a CTI scan.

Claude-"I am framed" is slang for being blamed/convicted for something that one did not do by false evidence-usually by those people that are really responsible- or by the Police.

I enjoyed the details of your experiences. I have been working in the US Courts for over 2 years as a Thai and Laotian Interpreter. John has the right to understand what is happening in court. Thanks Richard for sharing.

In Thailand, they use code law, not common law, which means there is no juror. The court should provide the interpretation for the defendant. He has the right to know what is going on during his trial.
