I think you are just a cheap farang who have no where to go that is why you want to live in Thailand because living cost is cheap there.

meaw, why let your jealousy lead your future? only you can get out of the rut you're forcing on yourself!

believe me meaw, there are many, many places on earth that make the Thai economy seem like the West!

maybe you're education will some day enable you to see those that visit or even live in "your" country without the envy that has branded you and if not realized, will be a major part of your personality!

or maybe it's little more than what you think and "a cheap farang" is all you'll ever see...

ps: meaw, I have not lived in Thailand since 1989...

Hi Superman: I am writing in regards to that beer you owe me.
It has now been 18 years since i bought you that can of beer at Sid Smith' mini-mart on the corner of Soi Bangla, and i am still waiting for you to get me one back (as promised). Talk about cheap.......!

Anyway, even if you are a Cheap Charlie, i shall continue reading your blogs....vintage stuff!

Dave should've just bite the dog back to have his nickname well deserved... :D
I think the Siamese cats are kept in homes and not let roam the street thats why you don't get to see them... My Thai teacher keeps them. ;)

Dave wasn't really crazy at all, but he had a roaring laugh that scared many of the locals and he had a bad side that was hard to rouse, but once done, you'd not want to be around when Dave was ranting!

Years later we'd talk about his moniker "Crazy Dave", he'd grin, we all knew he liked it, but one day on the beach, years before, he said "you know, they call me Crazy Dave"! Like he was surprised...hee hee David was a character with a big heart and would help anyone that wondered in Thai Garden and he knew who was crazy in Old Patong!

Haha.. funny, I always thought that the cats were just involved in car accidents and stuff like it. However, my cousin does have cats with tails. So maybe they're not that much into voodoo in Lamlukka. ;)

Wow I really enjoyed reading that. Hard to imagine what Patong looked like 20-30 years ago. I imgaine it looked like parts of Cambodia now. I would have loved to experience that. I have a cat with a bobbed tail, I was told it was due to inbreeding. They are born that way.
