Phitsanulok may not have a great deal to see, but the flying omelette show down at the riverside is always a hoot, and there's an old historic wat a few clicks south of town, and the museum of coconut shreders is worth a look. And your photos of the "white temple" just south of Chiang Rai are exellent....

oops didnt know there was an entrance fee, did the same as you! to me phitsanulok felt like a ghetto of western tourism but wat yai made up for everything else a thousand fold. if there is one wat i would dearly love to see again, it is wat yai.

This Wat in California has received an replica in size and decor of this Buddha image. Those in the US can now 'see' this image in person.
