A friend of mine was groped during Songkran a couple of years back, and like you said the perpetrator just disappeared into the crowd quick as a flash and nothing could be done :( It left her in tears. I wish they could crack down on this.

Also it'd be nice if they could crack down on the all day drinking sessions a bit too, as the atomsphere during the evening at Khao San on the 13th was distinctly agressive in places due to the number of drunks. It's a shame, as it's overall really fun I think but it only takes a few idiots to ruin it.

I've made some pictures from "play water" at Chiang Mai. Because my camera was well protected, it was possible to take the pictures in the midst of the wet scenery.

I hope, you like the pictures, even the gallerie page is in german language.

Thanks for the link Theo. Nice shots! What did you do to protect your camera? Was it a normal camera?

For those who don't know, Theo has translated some of Phra Nattawud's web site into German. You can see here:

Hi Richard,

I used something like these shown on the link for my Olympus digital camera. I'm just back from my second Songkran at Chiang Mai and my camera is still alive (but not my mobile).
