Lyrics for Loy Krathong

I know it seems strange talking about Loy Krathong in April, but I noticed on the statistics that so many people are looking for the lyrics for the song. As we don't have the lyrics in the blogs, I didn't really want them to feel disappointed. So, here they are:

November full moon shines
Loy Krathong, loy Krathong
and the water's high in the river and local klong
Loy Krathong is here and everybody's full of cheer
We're together at the klong
Each one with his krathong
As we push away we pray
We can see a better day

The name of the festival can be spelled in different ways - sometimes you see loi, and sometimes you see kratong. The festival usually takes place during the full moon in November (sometimes end of October). This year it is on 16th November. Naturally I will be writing more about this nearer the time.

I'm a great fan of Loy Krathong song !!!
Loy Krathong song was the first Thai song that I've heard when I was a little girl and since that day, I was in love with everything related to Thailand.
Unfortunately, until today I haven't got the chance to see the Loy Krathong festival which I really looking forward.

Loy Krathong is a lovely festival. I'm glad I managed to celebrate it in Bangkok 2 years back, though I almost fell into the pond in Lumpini Park. Haha... Hope to have the chance to celebrate it again this year.

There is a site that has both Thai and English lyrics for Loy Krathong song, and also a real audio file so you can listen. I think maybe this site has the better direct translate from Thai to English for the song. The site is from Soppong River Inn, in Mae Hong Son province of Thailand. Hope this is useful.

I've learned this song 10years ago (1997), this was part and one of our cheering yells(cheering squad). I really like it that is why i didnt forget this song.It registered in my mind till now (2007)
