Been seeing lots of LIKAY since I was a child on TV but not really of the real one. I usually see NGIEW (which is similar to LIKAY but is a Chinese Opera Drama whatever) in fresh markets near my old house in Don Muang. Let me tell you, some may see this is as a traditional tthing which should be preserved, well I do agree with that to a certain extent BUT they sounds NASTILY HORRIBLE and it gives me headache just watching/hearing them. I'm not a fan of an opera of all sorts anyway, so don't critic me for hating my own country's culture. I am sure 90% of all Thai population wouldn't say LIKAY is their favourite entertainment.

Hi Richard,

It's cool that you found this established troupe. I had different experience with the likay I photographed around Laksi area. They are struggling to get the audience's attention and the rent. But that's life.

Cheers!
