For the last few days I have been playing with a cool program which allows you to zoom and pan in on satellite pictures of your local area. You can download a free trial version at keyhole.com. As some of you are probably wondering by now where I live, I thought I would show you some pictures of my house from space!

In this first picture, you can see how close I am to the Chao Phraya River and also to the Gulf of Thailand. This is the river that runs through Bangkok. You can see that on the west side of the river it isn’t built up so much. In fact, for many miles there aren’t many houses at all. Where I live it is the most densely populated province in Thailand.

In this next picture I have zoomed in a little. The view now is from an altitude of about 1500 feet. My house is in the top right hand corner. You can see the school where I teach at the bottom of the picture with the bright red-ochre roof. There are two buildings. The playground is in-between. In the top left hand corner you can see the old city prison. They started knocking this down a couple of years ago and were supposed to build a park. But, no sign of that happening now. This picture must have been taken before they knocked it down.
On page 2, you can see a closer view of my house….
